“The site and location were beautiful and well Prepared for tent camping! It was secluded and quiet. Camp sites were all spaced apart at a good private distance from one another! Bathrooms and access to water were close by!”
“The place was quiet and clean. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming.”

Perched along the edge of Hungry Horse Reservoir high in the Rocky Mountains west of the Continental Divide and just south of the Canadian border, Lost Johnny Point Campground looks out over the long sweep of water created by the Hungry Horse Dam (the dam ranks as the 10th highest in the United States). There are TOTAL CAMPSITES: 21 SITE TYPE BREAKDOWN: - 21 Both RV Sites & Tent Sites and the campground operates with 12 reservable sites and 9 sites held for walk-up campers; the maximum stay is 16 consecutive days. The paved West Side Hungry Horse Reservoir road crosses the dam and continues to the campground about six miles south of the dam, and campground roads and parking spurs are paved. An on-site host staffs the loop and can answer orientation questions; accessible vault toilets and drinking water for jugs are provided (bring a full tank for RVs there is no RV fill station). The first vehicle is included in the site fee, a second vehicle is charged $5.00 on arrival, and reservations are handled by phone at 1-877-444-6777. Recreation here centers on the reservoir: a concrete boat ramp within the campground makes boating straightforward on the 27,750-acre lake, and swimming and shoreline fishing are common anglers often target cutthroat trout and other species. Each of the 21 sites is outfitted with a picnic table and a campfire ring with grill, and the campground's location places visitors within the broader opportunities of Flathead National Forest, where hiking, biking, horseback riding, wildlife viewing (the forest is habitat for species from lynx and grizzly bear to bull trout), hunting, winter sports and off-highway vehicle routes are all available. Reservation and cancellation policies are specific: cancellations made within the 4-day reservation window will be considered for a refund of camping fees only (the first night's fee is automatically forfeited), day-of-arrival cancellations must be reported by calling Cheryl at 406-752-PWAI (7924) or 406-404-4164 so the host is notified, and no-shows are not eligible for a refund. Lost Johnny Point sits roughly 18 miles southwest of Glacier National Park's West Glacier entrance, making it a convenient base for a day trip into the park as well as for on-water recreation close to camp.
