“Great campground! Variety of sites; back-in, pull through, lots of shade or mostly sun. Multiple restrooms and water spigots. Beautiful views and easy access to the lakes, mountains and trails in the area.”
“Clean we had plenty of room. Nice campground. We love Joes Valley!!!”

Joe's Valley Reservoir sits at about 7,000 feet on the Wasatch Plateau, a high mountain bowl ringed with aspens and pines and punctuated by juniper, pinyon and sagebrush. The campground contains 41 campsites a mix of single and double-family units and each site is set up to accommodate both RVs and tents; roads and parking spurs are paved, many sites look out over the lake, a number offer shade, and all sites are accessible. Basic services at the campground include vault toilets and drinking water; a paved road follows the shoreline before turning to dirt as you climb into higher country, so expect smoother access around the reservoir itself and rougher surfaces on side roads. Joe's Valley Group Pavilion and the nearby Orange Olsen Guard Station cabin rentals provide options for larger gatherings or an overnight cabin experience away from tent and RV camping. The reservoir is the obvious draw: anglers fish for cutthroat and rainbow trout, tiger muskie, and trophy splake, and a boat ramp on the eastern shoreline gives straightforward water access for skiing, canoeing and general boating. Dryland recreation radiates out from the lake horseback riding, hiking and mountain biking on nearby trails, plus world-class bouldering in Straight and Cottonwood Canyons and the Reeder Trailhead provides direct entry to the 370-mile Arapeen OHV Trail System (including 66- and 55-inch routes). Several other mountain fisheries (Grassy Lake, Pete's Hole, Potter's Ponds) lie within roughly ten miles of the group site. For practical matters like fees, reservation rules and seasonal openings or OHV regulations, check with the Manti-La Sal National Forest offices before you go; from Price, the reservoir is reached by following State Roads 10 and 29 west through Orangeville and then north on SR-29 to the lake.
