“Campground is in need of TLC....it is being totally neglected. In dire need of .at least routine maintenance.. what a shame because the location is great ”
“The Equine campgrounds are clean and the trails are easygoing with changing scenery. Wildlife is icing on the cake. ”
“Had a great time. Pens are covered for animals. Trails are really nice!”

Reynolds Creek sits on the shore of Waco Lake, the reservoir that lies within Waco city limits and is fed primarily by the 115-mile Bosque River. The lake was formed with the completion of Lake Waco Dam in 1963 and now holds about 79,000 acre-feet of water, creating a mix of open water and shallow, timbered shoreline that attracts anglers and water-sport users alike. The park entrance is accessed from Highway 6 north of central Waco via Speegleville Road, placing you a short drive from the city while still surrounded by ash and juniper woodlands. On foot, the easy 1.2-mile Tejas Nature Trail departs from the park and threads through that tree cover; for longer outings the 20-mile Lacy Point trail offers extended riding and biking options through the broader Waco Lake recreation area. Nearby, the Waco Lake Wetlands education site runs tours through a six-acre aquatic nursery and supports more than 130 bird species for wildlife viewing and environmental education. The campground provides 40 sites in total 10 reserved for equestrian use, 24 designated RV sites, and 6 tent sites with equestrian camping available year-round and general camping open seasonally from April 1 through September 30. Onsite amenities include a boat ramp and dock for launching into the timbered shoreline, day-use picnic areas offered on a first-come, first-served basis, and easy access to fishing for catfish, crappie, largemouth bass, and sunfish in the submerged timber that holds fish year-round. Because specific hookups and fees are not listed here, call the park for current reservation policies, campsite details, and rates at (254) 756-5359 (local) or (877) 444-6777 for general information. Whether you arrive with a trailer and horses, an RV, or a tent, Reynolds Creek offers a practical base for hiking, paddling, fishing, wildlife viewing, and the occasional organized education program on the lake's wetlands.
