“Great campground with well kept facilities. Very friendly and helpful staff. ”
“Park was quiet, they were working on cleaning up, roads need some attention. Bathhouse was clean and staff was friendly. The negative was the sand burrs. Overall a good place to stay ”
“The grass was so tall it was horrible. The ant hills were really bad also. Was very disappointed in my last visit Please do better”

Mott Park sits on the western shore of Bardwell Lake in the Blackland Prairie of southwestern Ellis County, a short drive southwest of Ennis and under an hour from the Dallas Fort Worth metro area. The landscape here is a mix of grassy open areas and scattered woodland, with springtime patches of bright bluebonnets along the lakeshore and a shoreline of clear, cool water that invites boating and water sports. Wildlife is a regular part of the experience deer, armadillo, rabbit, squirrel and a variety of birds are commonly sighted and anglers prize Bardwell Lake for bass, with catfish usually doing well and crappie offering middling but consistent catches. The broader recreation area includes hunting zones (including duck hunting), a marina with fishing piers two of them enclosed for a small fee and plenty of shoreline suited to picnicking, hiking and wildlife viewing. The campground at Mott provides 34 campsites in total: 28 are RV sites and 6 are sites designated for both RVs and tents. Many sites offer water and 30-amp electric hookups, and the park charges $16 per night for a 50-amp site and $14 per night for a 30-amp site; note that failure to check out by 2:00 p.m. may result in additional fees. For groups there's a pavilion with four 30-amp electric and water connections that can accommodate roughly 100 people and up to four RVs, plus a day-use area for non-campers. On-site amenities include a swimming area with benches, two designated fishing areas, public restrooms with showers, a courtesy dock and a single four-lane boat ramp to get boats into the lake. Because seasonal conditions, reservation availability and facility fees can change, consult the Bardwell Lake/US Army Corps of Engineers website before you go for current information and to confirm bookings.
