“We always enjoy our camping trip here . Just wished they had trails to hike and cleaner bathrooms and showers. ”
“Camp host Donna was so kind and understanding. We certainly want to thank her for fixing several problems prior to our arrival. When we left, we learned Donna was on a casino tour. We hope she has a great time and gets paid. Lol. We love you, Donna”
“Easy access to the water, nice and shady camping spots, and a terrific park host. Will definitely return.”

Mill Creek sits on the southeast shore of Sam Rayburn Reservoir in the Piney Woods of southeast Texas, within the bounds of the Angelina National Forest and a short drive north of Jasper near Brookeland. The reservoir itself covers more than 114,000 acres and is nationally known for its largemouth bass fishery, so expect frequent fishing tournaments and steady boat traffic during prime seasons; swimming, water sports and general boating are also mainstays here. The forested setting supports seasonal wildlife viewing bald eagles are regular winter visitors, red-cockaded woodpeckers are present in the longleaf-pine stands, and songbirds from warblers to vireos move through on migration while resident wood ducks hang on in the understory. From the campground you can access lakeside recreation and longer trails that head east toward Toledo Bend Reservoir, and nearby marinas and privately owned lodges provide additional services and concessions. The campground accommodates 103 sites in five loops, with 102 sites configured for both RVs and tents and one site designated tent-only; the loops are arranged as Loop A (19 sites), Loop B (8 sites), Loop C (10 sites), Loop D (20 sites) and Loop E (45 sites). Mill Creek provides practical day-to-day amenities for family and group stays: a boat ramp, a designated swimming beach, a group shelter, playground and a volleyball court, and many sites include water and electric hookups. Beyond boating and fishing, on-site and nearby opportunities include hiking, horseback riding, picnicking and playground activities, and the park supports other concession services through marina operators. Fees, reservation windows and seasonal access can change, so call the park office or check the official Sam Rayburn Reservoir site before you go; if you're aiming for wildlife viewing, winter is the best time to look for eagles along the reservoir.
