“Over River park is close to home but is so beautiful. The park is well maintained. Our site was roomy. Only drawback is that the fire pit is close to our canopy. We extended our stay by another night because it was so beautiful. ”
“Emma is beautiful. The people were friendly and we absolutely loved it.”
“Another great Halloween weekend in the books!! Best campground and host ever!”

Obey River Park sits on the Tennessee side of Dale Hollow Lake, where forested hills give way to long, clear arms of water created by the Obey River and dam. The lake itself covers about 27,700 surface acres and sports roughly 620 miles of shoreline, so whether you come to chase trophy smallmouth bass (Dale Hollow yielded the world record smallmouth) or to fish the rainbow and brown trout in the river below the dam, there is room to spread out. Boating and water-skiing are common from dawn to dusk and secluded tie-ups dot the shore for quieter stretches of shoreline; a large sandy swimming beach, playgrounds and a basketball court make this the most popular day-use and camping area on the lake. Wildlife is part of the draw too Dale Hollow supports the second-largest wintering bald eagle population in Tennessee and Kentucky, and sandhill cranes are often heard or seen during migration seasons so pack binoculars along with your rod. The campground itself offers 124 sites in a mix that accommodates trailers and tents: 87 sites accept both RVs and tents, 15 are RV-only paved sites, and 22 are tent-only. Four group double-party sites and two large picnic shelters handle larger gatherings; individual sites include a variety of surfaces and utilities, with many sites offering water and electric hookups (50-amp service is available at select sites), flush toilets, drinking water and a dump station. A Wi-Fi hub sits near the registration center for checking weather or managing reservations when the office is closed. Practical details matter here: camping is limited to 14 days within any 30-consecutive-day period, there is no fee to make a reservation but $10 is withheld from refunds and cancellation rules apply (cancelling the day before or day of arrival carries a $10 service fee plus forfeiture of the first night), and payments are accepted online or by credit card only. Day-use fees are $5 per vehicle (the Corps annual pass and America the Beautiful pass are accepted), visitors to campers are charged $3 per vehicle per day, and registered campers check in at the campground registration building rather than the automated pay station. The park lies along Highway 111 south of Byrdstown and adjacent to Sunset Marina don't rely solely on GPS when planning your route and the Dale Hollow National Fish Hatchery and several historic sites in nearby towns make easy half-day side trips.
