“Beautiful setting. Well kept natural sites. Just wish the leash law would be enforced. Too many encounters off leash.”
“A favorite place to visit! The camp hosts are exceptional and do a great job maintaining campsites and campers! Bathrooms need upgrade BADLY only 2 showers for 200+ campsites. Gut in them and refresh annually! Please🙏🏻”
“The campsite was fine. The restroom was horribly disgustingly filthy. The lake was beautiful. I had camped the previous weekend at Humbug Mtn. Campground and the restrooms were pristine. What a shocking contrast.”

Perched on the shore of Lake of the Woods and reached by turning south off Highway 140 onto Forest Road 3701, Aspen Point Campground is a single-loop site that puts water access and forest trails within a few steps of your campsite. The loop contains 50 total campsites 44 sites are configured for both RVs and tents and 6 are tent-only plus a group site that can accommodate up to 100 guests. Practical comforts at the campground include picnic tables, campfire rings, drinking water, and flush toilets; there's also a boat ramp and a small beach for launching kayaks or stretching out on warm afternoons. A nearby resort provides additional services, including basic lodging and dining. For reservation details and seasonal staffing, note that between 05/15/2021 and 09/15/2021 this location is staffed and local staff can be reached at (541) 274-0386; from 09/16/2021 to 05/14/2022 the site is unstaffed and the general information line is (866) 201-4194. Aspen Point is a flexible base for summer and winter outdoor pursuits. From the loop you can drop a line for rainbow or brown trout, kokanee salmon, bass and perch, launch a canoe for a sunset paddle, or swim and beach-hop along the shoreline; the campground's proximity to trailheads also opens up hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding in summer and early fall. In winter the same backcountry becomes a place for skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling. The larger Fremont-Winema landscape around the lake offers auto touring, OHV routes, wildlife viewing and hunting, and access toward the Sky Lakes Wilderness an expanse of several hundred water bodies, rocky ridges and timbered slopes that leads up toward 9,495-foot Mount McLoughlin. Expect to share the area with mule deer, Rocky Mountain elk and migrating waterfowl, and be aware that black bears, mountain lions and bobcats are present in the forest; plan accordingly for food storage and safety. Crater Lake National Park and the Rogue-Umpqua National Scenic Byway are within day-trip range if you want to combine lake time with longer scenic drives or a visit to the deep blue crater.
