“Mostly a good place for ATV folks. Too bad some knuckle heads have to modify exhaust systems so they are way too loud.”
“Great place to stay , Just wish they would add showers!”
“Site claimed to fit 2 vehicles 2 trailers up to 8 people only for 1 vehicle and small trailer. Wasps overwhelmed the camp sites.”

Spinreel Campground sits inside the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area along Tenmile Creek, about 12 miles south of Reedsport off Highway 101 (turn onto Spinreel Road and follow it roughly a half mile). The site occupies a transition zone between tall sand dunes and coastal forest, with the Pacific Ocean a short distance to the west and Tenmile Lake upstream feeding the creek that runs past the campground. There are 36 campsites, each configured to accommodate both RVs and tents, and paved roads lead through the loop to make access straightforward for vehicles and trailers. Basic onsite amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, picnic tables, fire rings and trash collection; there are no electric hookups or a dump station, so plan accordingly. A small-boat ramp provides direct access to Tenmile Creek for low-draft boats and fishing craft. The campground functions as a primary staging area for off-highway vehicle (OHV) riding, with immediate access to designated routes such as the Coast Guard Trail and to nearby open riding zones across the dunes; riders can also explore additional OHV areas at Hauser and Horsfall. Beach access is varied several stretches permit off-road vehicle use while a section north of the Spinreel staging area is reserved for non-motorized use (horseback riders and hikers only). Beyond motorized recreation, Tenmile Creek and Tenmile Lake offer boating and fishing, and the John Dellenback Dunes Trail is about two miles north for hikers who want a non-motorized dune walk to the shore. Note the campground's reservation policy: campsites not occupied within 24 hours of the arrival time are released as no-shows, so call the ranger station at (541) 271-6000 if you expect to arrive late or need current fee and seasonal information.
