Fishermans Corner sits on a high stretch of the upper Mississippi where the river's wide channel, a nearby aquatic marsh by Locks and Dam 14, and a ribbon of floodplain woods shape the view. Mornings often bring turtle-lined rocks and a steady parade of water and songbirds, and bald eagles concentrate on the river in winter, making the campground a favored spot for eagle watching. The Mississippi River Trail (Central Trail) runs directly in front of the campground, so cyclists and walkers have immediate access to miles of riverbank trail; the Elton E. Fawks Bald Eagle Refuge and the Illiniwek Forest Preserve are only minutes away. There is no direct riverbank access from individual sites here, but a short walk leads to the Fishermans Corner Day Use area with multiple fishing spots and a canoe ramp, and the campground amphitheater hosts weekly educational programs during the season. The campground offers 56 total campsites: 51 sites that accommodate both RVs and tents and five tent-only sites. Of the RV/tent sites, 46 provide electrical hookups; drinking water, a shower house and flush toilets are available on-site.
