eleanor s ★ 5 · Oct 2025Great campsite nestled between the road and the river. Super clean with paved sites but nice adjacent fire rings and picnic tables. Enjoyed our stay at this very convenient spot.
Jessica G ★ 5 · Sep 2025Great little campsite with easy river access. The host was absolutely wonderful and is doing a great job maintaining this site. Keep up the good work!

Shoup Bridge Campground sits between Highway 93 and the Salmon River about five miles south of the town of Salmon, offering immediate river access and a sense of the larger Salmon Field Office landscape the winding river corridor that supports steelhead, rainbow and cutthroat trout and both mellow floats and challenging whitewater depending on the reach. The campground is paved and RV-friendly, with a boat ramp popular with rafters and anglers and a paved, non-motorized pathway that leads five miles into Salmon for easy bike or foot access to town. Mature cottonwood trees shade the sites and the sound of the river is constant; wildlife watchers can expect the kinds of species typical to the Lemhi and Bitterroot landscapes, and the area around Salmon provides a mix of motorized and non-motorized trails, hunting, and fishing opportunities. There are 8 campsites total, each able to accommodate both RVs and tents, and the facility keeps things simple and functional: potable water, vault toilets, picnic tables, fire rings, scenic riverfront benches and a bicycle repair station. A campground host is on site from Memorial Day through Labor Day, but the location is otherwise unstaffed; for general questions you can call the Salmon Field Office at (208) 756-5400. Nightly fees are $5 per site with a $2 charge for one additional vehicle (limit of one additional vehicle per campsite); fees are paid on-site using fee envelopes or via the Recreation.gov Scan & Pay App. Note that payment is final no changes, cancellations, or refunds are allowed so plan accordingly.
