“Campsite was great. Camp host would not even come out of his camper to talk with visitors who had questions. Spoke to us through his window and was very unfriendly and unhelpful. ”
“Really great. Keep in mind it’s close to the highway so a fair amount of traffic in and out of the campsite. But amazing. Close to the restaurant. Close to the springs and hiking. Great cell phone reception. ”

Mountain View Campground sits just east of Lowman along Highway 21 at milepost 73.2, about 3,900 feet above sea level, where a stand of Ponderosa pines shades the compact group of sites. The campground contains 15 total campsites; all 15 serve both RVs and tents and are described as accessible. Each site comes with a picnic table, a campfire ring and a grill, and the loop is approachable year-round on paved roads and paved parking spurs. Vault toilets, a drinking-water source, trash collection and an on-site campground host are provided; for fees, reservation rules and seasonal openings, check with the Boise National Forest office before you go so you have current information on availability and any access notices. Recreation centers on the South Fork Payette River, which runs alongside the area and is a base for whitewater rafting, kayaking and trout fishing, with the Deadwood and Danskin river access areas nearby for additional put-ins and shore fishing. Kirkham Hot Springs is less than three miles away and offers several riverside soaking pools; the Banks-Lowman and Ponderosa Pine scenic byways that thread this country offer more hot springs, wildlife-watching pullouts, historical kiosks and trailheads for short hikes or longer explorations. Within Boise National Forest you'll also find opportunities for biking, horseback riding, OHV routes, picnicking, swimming and winter sports depending on season and around the campground summer wildflowers and the occasional deer or elk moving through the pines reinforce that this is a spot where river recreation and forest access meet in a compact, well-equipped site cluster.
