“Unlike last year when we visited this year there is a camp host. There was a marked improvement in cleanliness of the campground and especially the bathroom. This is a great little campground and we look forward to returning.”
“This was our second time to stay here. We loved the host, Melvin Bell. He was very personal and helpful. We ended up staying 3 nights and had a wonderful time. We will definitely be back when we are in Colorado again. Thanks.”
“Area was very clean and kept up. Host was absolutely great! Sites were large and well spaced. Close to Creede, road noise was very minimal and nonexistent at night. ”

Marshall Park Campground sits in an open riverside meadow along the Rio Grande at about 8,800 feet, with broad views toward Bristol Head Peak and the La Garita Mountains. The campground's 15 sites are compact and sunny 14 of them accommodate both RVs and tents, while one is tent-only and are marked by picnic tables and metal campfire rings. Facilities are basic but thoughtful: an accessible vault toilet with a night light is on site, the host sells firewood, and periodic campfire programs run through the summer. There is no potable water at the campground, so plan to bring your own supply; for any facility-specific questions call the listed contact number before you go. The Rio Grande here has a strong reputation for rainbow trout and is treated locally as a trophy river, so anglers will find plenty of wading and boating opportunities right from camp; the campground is also a practical base for hunters and for exploring nearby off-road vehicle trails. If you want to stretch farther, the Lost Trail #821 OHV route is one nearby option for layered mountain views. The campground lies roughly 7 miles west of Creede on Colorado Highway 149, then about one mile up Forest Road 523, and sits in a high, open setting where cool mornings give way to direct sun by late morning. Nightly fees are $17.00 for single sites and $34.00 for double sites; because seasonal conditions and availability can change, check current information by phone before planning your trip.
