david g ★ 3 · Sep 2025Great location in relation to the lake! Easy 2min walk to one of the best coves on the lake. Biggest con is the party scene that took place there. Blastic music, loud ppl, kids (and adults) yelling and screaming nonstop all right next to camp host. Very chaotic campground. May stay again only because of location…
Dolly P ★ 5 · Sep 2025You can walk from the campsite to the lake if you choose a site closer to the front. Beware of mosquitos and keep your food bear-proof! The camp host does come around with firewood in case your site needs it, and parking was a breeze even though we had more cars than our two sites' capacity.
Larry W ★ 5 · Aug 2025Nice campground for camping. Location is an easy walk across the road from Bass Lake. My campsite (Space 028) was clean and had a level spot for my tent and plenty of room to park my truck and there was a bear box across from my site. I got a bit turned around when first arriving, driving around the campground looking for my space. I ran into the campground host and he led me directly to my space. He was super helpful and nice.

Spring Cove Campground sits at about 3,400 feet in a mixed oak, pine and cedar stand directly across the road from Bass Lake, and its character is defined by shaded, closely clustered sites that work best for tent campers and owners of small RVs. The facility contains 62 campsites in total, and each site is set up with a picnic table and campfire ring; drinking water and accessible flush toilets are provided, and short parking spurs are a mix of paved and dirt surfaces. Because of the campground's tight turns and campsite configurations, large travel trailers and big motorhomes are not recommended. The surrounding Sierra National Forest offers a range of terrain from oak-covered foothills up through forested middle slopes while Bass Lake draws a lot of summer activity and occasional bald and golden eagles, giving the place a lively, lake-oriented feel without the need to imagine more than the campground actually provides. Recreation at Spring Cove centers on Bass Lake's beach and boat ramp, where you'll find swimming, motorized boating, water skiing, sailing, paddling (canoe and kayak) and year-round fishing for bass, trout, bluegill and catfish; a 2.6-mile Spring Cove Trail begins inside the campground, and nearby Willow Creek (2.7 miles), Goat Mountain (2.6 miles) and the 1-mile Way-of-the-Mono Interpretive Trail expand day-hike options. The Bass Lake area runs seasonal weekend education programs in summer and the Sierra National Forest also supports broader opportunities such as hiking and overnight stays in some fire lookouts and cabins. Practical matters: reservations for most individual sites open six months in advance (group sites up to 12 months), and Recreation.gov enforces a $10 service fee on changes or cancellations; late cancellations (the day before or day of arrival) incur the $10 fee plus forfeiture of the first night's use fee, no-shows may face a $20 service fee and loss of fees, and refund requests must be submitted within 14 days after departure. For access, Spring Cove is reached from Highway 41 via the Bass Lake turn-off (Road 222) and lies roughly 20 miles south of Yosemite National Park, making Yosemite a feasible day trip.
