About

Pinegrove Campground sits among the pine stands of Coconino National Forest along Lake Mary Road about 19 miles southeast of Flagstaff, with a short spur road leading into the loop. The campground offers 24 sites that can accommodate both RVs and tents, laid out with room between sites so you won't be backed up tight to your neighbor. Basic campground amenities include picnic tables, campfire rings, cooking grills, drinking water and accessible flush toilets, and there are coin-operated showers on-site. Boat ramps are located on the nearby lakes and accessible fishing is provided at the Lake Mary Narrows, so it's easy to move from your campsite to the water for an afternoon on the boat or a morning with a rod. For up-to-date facility details, reservations or questions about seasonal access, call the campground at (928) 774-9671; Flagstaff is the closest town about 20 miles away for groceries, fuel and services. The lakes around Pinegrove Upper and Lower Lake Mary, Ashurst, Marshall and Kinnikinick are the area's draw for anglers and boaters; all are stocked with trout, bass and channel catfish, Upper Lake Mary is frequented by power boaters, and Ashurst is known for windsurfing when the breeze comes up. Trails for hiking and mountain biking are a short drive from the loop, and the broader 1.8 million-acre Coconino National Forest provides red-rock cliffs, desert basins and extensive wildlife habitat: migrating waterfowl use the lakes as stopovers, bald eagles winter here, ospreys fish the waters, and elk and mule deer are commonly seen. Beyond fishing, visitors can plan for a wide range of forest activities boating, biking, picnicking, horseback riding, winter sports and more so bring appropriate gear and check conditions ahead of time.
