“Overall a good experience. Campsites were very secluded and an amazing location see the perfect night sky. Both heated and non heated bathrooms/shower rooms were not kept up to good conditions”
“Always have a great family memories every time we camp here. Love the seclusiveness, the safe place for kids to play, quietness, and the scenery! We do enjoy and savor every moment! Well run well kept. Hope they add water to the sites one day. ”
“If you need water you will be disappointed. There are no water hookups in this campground. ”

Choctaw Park sits on the wide shoreline of Greers Ferry Lake at the foot of Round Mountain in the Ozark foothills, where forested ridges slope down to a 30,000-acre reservoir fed through the dam into the Little Red River. The campground has 108 total campsites: 106 sites are configured to accommodate both RVs and tents, while 2 are tent-only. Those sites are arranged across four loops Loop A (28 sites), Loop B (14 sites), Loop C (30 sites) and Loop D (34 sites) so you'll find options for a quieter loop or something closer to the water and day-use areas. On-site facilities include hot showers, a group picnic shelter, a playground, a swimming area, and a boat ramp; a public marina nearby adds rentals, food and supplies, which makes launching a towboat or stocking up for a picnic straightforward. The setting also carries a particular draw for divers and history buffs: the remains of the 19th-century town of Higden lie below the lake surface, and scuba divers sometimes explore those submerged features. Greers Ferry Lake and the surrounding parks supply a full slate of outdoor activities: boating and water sports from the marina, year-round fishing that produces some notably large walleye (the lake's tributaries have produced record fish up to 23 pounds), hiking and wildlife viewing on nearby trails, plus picnicking and a visitor center experience. The William Carl Garner Visitor Center, just west of the dam, has exhibits and a children's touch table and displays a replica of a famous downstream brown trout (40 lb. 4 oz.) caught in the Little Red River; a trout hatchery nearby supplies fish to that cold tailrace, which draws anglers through the seasons. Practical details fees, reservation policies and seasonal changes can vary, so call the park for the latest information and to reserve a site: local information (501) 745-8320 or general information (501) 362-2416. The park is reached a few miles south of Clinton via US 65 and AR 330; follow the signs into the campground.
