“every thing was good. it would be nice if the beach trail was groomed better. alot of indian celery.”
“We arrived at the cabin and it was clean and well stocked with firewood. We spent time hiking and beach walking and swimming in the bay. We used the outdoor firepit for cooking and just sitting and enjoying the beautiful space. ”

Brent's Beach Cabin sits on the eastern shore of Kruzof Island in Crab Bay, about 15 miles from Sitka and roughly a 30-minute boat ride when conditions allow. The cabin perches just inside the timberline on a sandy beach framed by spruce and hemlock, with volcanic outcrops a short 10-minute walk to the north (bring a compass). Brown bears are known to frequent the area, so standard food-storage and wildlife-safety practices are essential. Access is strictly by boat or helicopter, weather- and tide-dependent; helicopter landings on the beach are possible at lower tides but boat landings can only occur at certain stages of the tide, and erratic large waves have been reported at low slack tide avoid approaching or unloading while the tide is turning. The site is remote and simple: Total campsites: 1 (Site type breakdown: 1 Both RV Sites & Tent Sites), and visitors are responsible for arranging safe travel, checking current tide conditions, and carrying appropriate gear. The one-room Pan-abode-style cabin sleeps six on two double and two single plywood bunks (no mattresses) and includes a wood stove, an axe or splitting maul, table and benches, a cooking counter, broom and an outhouse toilet. Guests must bring sleeping bags and pads, a cooking stove and cookware, food, toilet paper, a lantern, garbage bags, a fire extinguisher, fire starter, raingear and rubber boots; water is available from a nearby inlet stream but should be treated before use and bringing your own water is recommended. A mooring buoy is provided on a first-come, first-served basis (4200-lb concrete block with 90 feet of 7/8-inch stud link chain); it is not exclusive to cabin renters and mariners are responsible for judging its suitability for their craft. Recreational options at the site include beachcombing and sunbathing on the sandy beach, saltwater fishing in Crab Bay and seasonal deer hunting in the surrounding forest; volcanic features and nearby trails provide short hikes. The cabin is open year-round, weather permitting, and the reservation policy allows only one change to start or end dates after that you must cancel and rebook so plan carefully and check Alaska Department of Fish and Game rules for fishing and hunting seasons before you go.
